As a woman-owned dispensary, Women’s History Month means something deeper than just a title. It means showing up for the women around us, lifting their names and making sure their work gets seen and celebrated. This March, we have had the absolute privilege of sitting down with some of the most inspiring, hardworking and passionate women in NJ cannabis and beyond and every single conversation has left us feeling grateful and hopeful about where this industry is heading.
One of those wonderful women we had a chance to talk to was Paige Payack, the owner of Jersey Clouds, a small-but-mighty NJ cannabis brand built on clean extraction, science and a genuine love of the plant.
Catching Up With Paige
How did you end up in cannabis?
“I got into the cannabis industry because I wanted to support my husband with his desire to offer premium full-spectrum oil cannabis products that are affordable for all consumers.
What do you wish people understood about working in cannabis that no one talks about?
“Long hours and the highs and lows of owning your own business can be trying at times, but also rewarding…While it’s challenging being a small business (4 employees) competing with the big players, our team’s passion is what gives me the strength to continue offering safe, pharmaceutical-grade products.”
Who’s a woman who helped you get where you are today?
“I credit many women in my life for being exceptional role models: from my mom, sister, niece (who is part of our team), family and friends, all who have been so supportive in my life.”
What gives you hope when you look at where cannabis is going?
“I’m hopeful NJ will continue to improve the cannabis market and especially assist the medical patients. The plant is a medicine and there is so much to discover. How can you not be excited!”
